The introduction of a One-Stop-Shop (OSS) platform has harmonized cargo clearance processes, reducing human interface and increasing transparency. This has led to a substantial increase in revenue, with the Command generating ₦145.9 billion in January 2026, up from ₦116.4 billion in January 2025. The Command has also surpassed its 2025 annual revenue target of ₦1.52 trillion, closing the year at ₦1.67 trillion.
Stakeholders have welcomed the changes, citing faster clearance timelines and fewer procedural hurdles. Freight forwarders report reduced dwell times, while importers appreciate the increased predictability. Terminal operators acknowledge improved dialogue and quicker issue resolution, creating a more efficient operating environment.
The digital framework has curtailed rent-seeking tendencies, promoting transparency and accountability. The Command’s focus on January 6, 2026, generated ₦145.9 billion, up from ₦116.4 billion in January 2025.
The Command’s enforcement efforts remain robust, with significant seizures of illicit goods, reinforcing its anti-smuggling mandate. Officer welfare, training, and capacity building have also received attention, aligning with broader institutional reforms within the Customs Service.
