It was indeed a night of songs and tributes for the late Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai was a grand affair, held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the International Christian Worship Centre in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The event was a fitting tribute to a man who dedicated his life to serving the Lord and uplifting humanity.
Organized by the Akwa Ibom State Government, the event brought together dignitaries from all works of life, friends, and family members to celebrate the life and legacy of the renowned cleric.
Governor Umo Eno, who personally attended the event, described Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai as a gift to Akwa Ibom State in particular and humanity in general, highlighting his contributions to the state’s spiritual growth and development. The Governor praised Ukpai’s mentorship and his role in shaping the spiritual identity of the state, noting that his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
Other notable attendees included Bishop Francis Wale Oke, National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), who acknowledged Ukpai as one of the founding fathers of PFN. Bishop Oke recalled Ukpai’s tireless efforts in building the church and spreading the gospel, and described him as a true pioneer in the faith. Dr. Emmanuel Kure of the Throne Room Ministry also ministered during the event, describing Ukpai as a great spiritual intercessor and a hero of faith.
The event featured powerful performances, including music, dance, and testimonies from people whose lives were touched by Ukpai’s ministry. The atmosphere was electric, with attendees visibly moved by the outpouring of love and gratitude for the late cleric.
