In a significant milestone for environmental conservation, the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA) has launched its Sustainability and Green Border Initiative in Ogun 1 of the Nigeria Customs Service, Idiroko , Ogun State.
The event, graced by COWA National President Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi, marked a new chapter in the organization’s commitment to promoting ecological stewardship and community development.
Addressing the gathering, Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Oladapo Afeni, welcomed the initiative, highlighting its alignment with global and national calls for environmental responsibility. “The Green Border initiative complements our operational goals, strengthening partnerships with host communities for peace, security, and prosperity,” he said.

The event featured the inauguration of school ambassadors, empowering young minds to champion environmental sustainability. Afeni commended the COWA Ogun I Chapter for their dedication to mobilizing members and implementing the national body’s vision at the grassroots level.
