In an effort to strengthen the already existing collaboration between the management of the Apex Regulatory agency, NIMASA and the Nigerian Navy, the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr Bashir Jamoh recently engaged the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo in a collaborative engagement.

According to the agency, the engagement was in line with the already existing collaboration between both agencies in the area of sustaining maritime security in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, recalled that Nigeria Waterways has been relatively been safe for two years now, noting that it was such renewed collaborative, communication and cooperation engagements between the two organisatons since the last quarter of 2021 that has yeilded such bountiful harvest in zero sea robbery and piracy attacks in the Nigerian waterways within the period.

Dr Jamoh however, revealed that the meeting was in furtherance of the strategy of Cooperation, Collaboration, Communication, Coordination on matters of maritime security.

To him: “We remain thankful for the support of the Nigerian Navy in ensuring stable seas” he said
