KLT COMMAND AIMS TO BOOST REVENUE AND EFFICIENCY

The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has outlined plans to enhance its revenue collection and operational efficiency.
Speaking to Newsman recently in Lagos, Customs Area Controller, Bolaji Adigun, stated that the command under his able leadership is poised to adopting a pragmatic and results-driven approach, prioritizing transparency and operational efficiency.
“We’re focusing on measurable outcomes, rather than rhetoric,” Adigun said. The command has already seen significant revenue growth, attributed to Adigun’s data-focused approach, which earned him recognition for blocking revenue leakages and boosting revenue collection at the command.
To further boost revenue, KLT is implementing automation of licences and permits processing, reducing human bottlenecks and clearance delays. The command is also integrating AI-driven risk management tools to identify suspicious consignments.
Adigun emphasized that revenue collection has reached an all-time high at KLT, with efforts focused on tightening duty assessment processes, plugging revenue leakages, and enforcing operational discipline among officers.
“These measures are designed to sustain growth and position KLT as a major revenue hub for the service,” Adigun concluded.
