In an effort to build a solid and a lasting relationship that would foster harmonious productivity within the Nigera Customs Service (NSC) and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), the two organisations are now fraternising for good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This could be seen from the recent visit of NIPSS management to the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), who has described the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS) as one of Nigeria\u2019s \u2018highest think-tank within the government circle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Customs top management by this token, has equally pledged to support and partner with the Institute in all ramifications to achieve its purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Col. Hameed Ali (rtd.) made this assertion on Tuesday at the Service Headquarters, Abuja when he received some delegates from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies to the Customs headquarters as led by its Director General Professor Ayo Omotayo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While speaking on the partnership, the CGC maintained that Nigeria Customs Service will continue to remain committed to partnering with NIPSS to proffer scientific solutions in the areas of trade facilitation and monitoring of informal trade at various entry and exit points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On capacity building and training of officers and men of the service, the Comptroller General also appreciated the organization (NIPSS) for their usual support.
The service boss acknowledged that actually the service has benefitted a lot from NIPSS’s programs \u2013 which he (CGC) said is an added value to the officers and men of the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He pointed out quickly: “Any opportunity to train our men and improve our e-commerce policies will quickly be considered.\u201d Comptroller General said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On his own, the Director General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Professor Ayo Omotayo, who spoke earlier applauded the efforts of Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), especially on how the service has been waging serious war against economic saboutours known as smugglers in making sure that government’s revenue generation efforts are not twattted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To him, “I have always been following your glorifying engagements and every effort that your agency as well as every other security agency is given to Nigeria,\u201d Omotayo said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orof. Omotayo reiterated the need to continue to rebuild the relationship as the visit, he pointed out, is aimed at building a cordial relationship with the Nigeria Customs Service in the area of research and training for effective service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visiting NIPSS boss thereafter applauded the intervention granted to the institute by the Customs management and pledged to improve Service\u2019s data system, to help it widen its influence in terms of economic growth and security.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
