The Customs Area Controller of the PTML Command, Comptroller Joe Anani, has commended the management of Port and Terminal Multi-Services Limited (PTML) for delivering a new, fully furnished Information and Communication Technology ICT-enabled office complex to the Nigeria Customs Service located within the Tin Can Island Port Complex, Lagos.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Comptroller Anani said the modern facility would significantly improve operational efficiency, officer morale, and trade facilitation at the command.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is truly a dream come true for us. I was informed that this project had been in the pipeline for some time, so witnessing its successful completion during my tenure gives me immense satisfaction and joy,\u201d Anani said. <\/p>\n
\u201cA modern workplace like this has a direct impact on the efficiency and motivation of officers. This facility will undoubtedly improve our operational capacity, create a better working atmosphere, and support our mandate of facilitating legitimate trade while ensuring compliance with government regulations.\u201d<\/p>\n
The office complex, handed over by PTML Managing Director Mr. Ascanio Russo, is fully furnished and equipped with modern Information and Communications Technology (ICT) facilities. It fulfils PTML\u2019s commitment to provide additional, conducive office space for Customs officers at the terminal.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe sincerely appreciate the management of PTML for honouring this promise and for continuously supporting the activities of the Command,\u201d Anani added.<\/p>\n
While speaking earlier, Mr. Russo described the project as a demonstration of PTML\u2019s unwavering commitment to supporting the Nigeria Customs Service and strengthening institutional partnership.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis project symbolizes our enduring partnership with the Nigeria Customs Service and our collective determination to improve operational standards at the port,\u201d Russo said. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe promised to provide additional offices to Customs to complement the existing ones, and today we are proud to fulfil that commitment with a facility designed to provide a modern, comfortable, and highly functional workspace for officers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Russo noted that the new facility would enhance productivity, strengthen operational effectiveness, and contribute to the seamless movement of cargo at the terminal. He also commended Customs officers for their dedication and professionalism in sustaining cargo throughput and government revenue despite operational challenges.<\/p>\n
