As global supply chains grow more complex and port operations face mounting security, environmental, and financial risks, the Port & Terminal Management Academy of Nigeria, POTMAN is stepping up to equip the industry\u2019s top players. <\/p>\n
The Academy will host a two-day intensive executive workshop on the theme: “Advanced Risk Management & Crisis Response in Port and Terminal Operations & Management” from Tuesday to Wednesday June 2, and 3, 2026 at Rockview Hotel, Parklane, Apapa, Lagos.<\/p>\n
According to the Rector of the academy, Prof. Babatubde Samuel, the programme targets senior port and terminal professionals who are on the frontlines of keeping Nigeria\u2019s trade gateways running. <\/p>\n
Speaking to News Emperor on why it\u2019s urgent for the sector now, the maritime expert and academia noted that ports are the arteries of Nigeria\u2019s economy, handling the bulk of imports and exports. But they\u2019re also vulnerable, to cyberattacks, operational disruptions, safety breaches, and financial losses. <\/p>\n
He therefore added:
\n\u201cThis workshop equips senior professionals with practical tools and global best practices to identify, assess, and respond to operational, security, environmental, and financial risks,\u201d the Rector of the Academy said. <\/p>\n
The goal, according to him include; strengthen emergency preparedness, improve crisis response, and safeguard supply chains that millions of Nigerians depend on. <\/p>\n
On what participants would gain for participating, he said :
\n“The workshop goes beyond theory. It\u2019s designed to deliver actionable skills for real-world port challenges.”<\/p>\n
