It is not loud. It is personal.

“I am not here just to speak. I am here to serve.”

Those were the words Labour Party candidate Mrs. Tessy Ngozi Okeze delivered to her constituency as she declared her intention to represent Aniocha/Oshimili North South Federal Constituency of Delta State in the Federal House of Representatives in the forthcoming general elections.

But for Okeze, the declaration is not the headline. The work is.

Walking the Roads First

In a recent post on her Facebook handle that has since been shared across WhatsApp groups in Delta North, Okeze wrote: “I have walked on our roads. I have seen our struggles. I understand our pains.”

It is a line she repeats, not as a slogan, but as a credential.

Speaking to _News Emperor_ after a round of grassroots consultations, Okeze dismissed the idea that she is running a “mere political campaign.”

“This is bigger than a campaign. This is a movement,” she said. “A movement for our youths. For our women. For our fathers, our mothers, our children.”

Her team calls it strategy by proximity — meeting rural voters one-on-one, in markets, farms, and compounds, long before the official campaign timetable begins.

The Town Girl Who Refuses Noise.

Described by supporters as a “thoroughbred mobilizer” and “people-orientated political strategist,” Okeze is branding her run with three hashtags that now dot community halls and social media alike: #TownGirlMovement, #TogetherWeRise, #NewFaceIsPossible.

But she insists the tags are not branding for branding’s sake.

“This is real mobilization,” she told supporters during a recent engagement. “I believe in grassroots mobilization and empowerment. I also believe in transparency. I believe that a new face is possible. Together, we rise.”

That insistence on “new face” is deliberate. In a constituency where political recycling is common, Okeze is pitching herself as departure, not repetition.

“Ndi Aniocha/Oshimili, I didn’t come to make noise. I came to work,” she said. “I know this land because I’ve walked it with you. I know the pain because I’ve felt it too.”

For the Ones Carrying Too Much.

If there is a policy spine to Okeze’s movement, it is stripped of jargon and aimed at the household.

“This is not politics as usual. This is our movement,” she told a gathering. “For the youth with no jobs. For the mothers with no support. For the fathers carrying too much. For our children who deserve better.”

She framed her bid around three pillars: empowerment from the ground up; open, honest leadership; and the belief that representation can be reset.

“I stand for empowerment from the ground up. I stand for open, honest leadership. I stand because a new face _is_ possible. Let’s rise — together,” the Labour Party aspirant said.

Constituents who have met her describe as a candidate more comfortable taking notes than giving long speeches. “She believes in her people and knows that their votes would count,” one community mobilizer noted.

Short, Punchy, and Deliberate

Okeze’s message has been compressed for the platforms where young voters live. A version now circulating reads:

Aniocha/Oshimili, I’m here to serve — not to speak._
I know your roads. I know your struggles. I know your pain._
This isn’t a campaign. It’s a movement._
For our youths. Our women. Our fathers. Our mothers. Our children._

The candidate told _News Emperor_she plans to adapt the message into a 30-second video script and what she calls “a town hall opening line” to deepen her reach among grassroots voters ahead of 2027.

More Than a Statement

For Okeze, the goal is not just visibility. “She wants to make a political statement this time around with her political sagacity,” a close aide said.

That statement, by all indications, is that Aniocha/Oshimili North South can be contested and won from the ground up — by a woman who calls herself “Town Girl” not to diminish her ambition, but to root it.

As 2027 draws closer, her test will be whether a movement can survive the machinery of Nigerian elections. For now, her answer is simple:

“I am here to serve.”

Tessy Ngozi Okeze is the Labour Party candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili North South Federal Constituency, Delta State.
*#TownGirlMovement #TogetherWeRise #NewFaceIsPossible #2027 #LabourParty

In the dusty corners of Aniocha/Oshimili North and South, where campaign posters usually fade before promises are kept, a different message is cutting through.
