Thousands of Nigerian youths and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on Wednesday April 23, 2026 stormed the Abuja office of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, calling on him to join the 2027 presidential race.<\/p>\n
The demonstrators, operating under the Coalition for Goodluck Jonathan, occupied parts of the capital chanting solidarity songs and bearing placards with inscriptions like _\u201cGEJ: Nigeria is dying, save it!\u201d_ and _\u201cGEJ, if you no run, we quench.\u201d_<\/p>\n
Despite waiting for hours, the protesters did not see the former president. Sources said Jonathan had no prior knowledge of the gathering and made no appearance.<\/p>\n
Sources said that organisers maintained that the nationwide clamour for his return to the ballot has become \u201cloud and unmistakable,\u201d vowing to sustain the pressure until he declares his position.<\/p>\n
