\nSome of the them (the Imolites) are also fealing that event should have been an avenue for people of Imo State and probably the entire Southeast to submit to the tricks of the politicians who they alleged always promise and will not keep their promises.
\nOthers equally felt insulted by the utterances of the City Boys’ at the event and concluded that afterall, whatever they wanted to give to them were bought with their money and that this is their own time to get their own share.<\/p>\n
Recall that the socialite, Cubsna Chief Priest, Director of City Boys’ Movement in Imo State, Pascal Ikechukwu, who went to Imo State along with the National Leader of the Movement, Seyi TINUBU and his group of City Boys’ were there to campaign for the second tenure of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as they took their campaign train CUBANA Chief Priest ‘s hometown, Imo State precisely at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Imo State.<\/p>\n
According to sources, the nightlife entrepreneur (CUBANA Chief Priest), who was said to told his audience that they decided to come to Imo State to ensure that the people of Southeast gets their fare share in the political affairs of Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Cubana Chief Priest was also said to have provoked the highly intelligent people of Imo State when he made the following statements:
\n“What we have shown today is abundant love, and we expect that in return. Ndigbo, we are people defeated in war. It is not easy for us. We are just seeking a fair share. We are Igbo. We are tired of fighting; we want to apply sense in getting what we seek.<\/p>\n
“We have decided to partner with the government at the centre. We are not ready to fight. We have tired fighting, and it didn’t work for us. The best we can do is a partnership. We have shown you love, Seyi TINUBU and I know you will reciprocate in a dozen-fold,” Vanguard reported.<\/p>\n
“At the last election, I didn’t support Asiwaju; I had to be an Igbo boy. Politics is a game, and it’s a game you love to win. We don’t want to lose again,” Ikechukwu informed.<\/p>\n
The Imo youths got provoked and the highly anticipated empowerment event organized City Boys’ turned violent, leaving attendees disappointed and authorities on high alert. <\/p>\n
The event, News Emperor gathered, was meant to be the official launch and presentation of gift items by the City Boy Movement in the Southeast and to promote President Tinubu’s vision.<\/p>\n
But unfortunately for them, it ended in chaos as participants turned aggressive, threatening to burn down vehicles belonging to visiting politicians.<\/p>\n
Eyewitnesses reported that the distribution of livelihood support items, including sewing machines and laptops, quickly turned into a free-for-all, with attendees scrambling to get their share. As supplies ran out, frustration boiled over, and some participants began vandalizing property and threatening violence.<\/p>\n
“It was a disaster waiting to happen,” said a local resident. “These people came with big promises, but they didn’t deliver. They should be ashamed of themselves.”<\/p>\n
The incident has raised concerns about the use of handouts to manipulate vulnerable communities and the growing culture of entitlement. “This is not empowerment, it’s bribery,” said a youth leader. “We need real development, not crumbs from politicians’ tables.”<\/p>\n
Authorities have condemned the violence and promised to investigate. The City Boy Movement has distanced itself from the incident, blaming “miscreants” for the chaos.<\/p>\n
