The Customs Officers\u2019 Wives Association (COWA) FOU \u2018A\u2019 chapter has began the championing of idea of advancing environmental sustainability with the organisation through a one-day environmental education workshop held at the unit, while also flagging off a tree planting exercise at the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone \u2018A\u2019 headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos.<\/p>\n
The COWA’s tree planting Programme held on February 26, 2026 at Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja had the theme: \u201cGreen Barracks, Green Borders: Advancing Environmental Stewardship for a Carbon-Responsible Future,\u201d.<\/p>\n
The event which was well attended, despite being COWA’s or women affairs, drew men and women including members of the Nigeria Customs Service community, government representatives, and maritime and environmental stakeholders.<\/p>\n
While delivering the welcome address on behalf of COWA’s National President, Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi, the State Chairperson of COWA, Mrs. Clara Nkechi Aliyu, described the workshop as a strategic movement toward building environmentally responsible barracks and border communities across the federation.<\/p>\n
