The theme of this month’s edition which was “Marriage,Money: the Mistakes Couples Make In Marriage and in the Management of Their Finances,” was an eye opener for a lot of married men and women and participants including yong singles who participated in the seminar as they were lectured on how to live peace, harmony and to the glory of in their marital lives and in the management of their God-given resources.

The event was packaged by Dynamic Christian Family Life Seminar, DCFLS, a nongovernmental and nonprofit making organizations in conjunction with the church was well attended and was equally cherished by all and sundry.

The organiser and the Coordinator, of Dynamic Christian Family Life Seminar, DCFLS, Pastor Ambrose Obioma Okehi was full of commendations for those who speared their times beyond their busy schedules to attend the free seminar. He thanked them for coming and participating in the elaborate discussions and intersections.

The coordinator also described marriage as a divine convenant with divine commitment. He said it is not a contract which has transactional commitment. But a divine convenant with divine commitment. He added that marriage is beautiful journey of two people (the husband and wife) or a union of love or partnership to build life together, supporting each other and at the same time reflecting God’s love.

In his earlier speech, the coordinator noted that to married couples, money represents more than just finance, that it all about trust, commitment and unity with which the couple unilise the resources given to them by God. He quoted Malachi 2:13-16, Okehi reminded the participants that marriage is a vow made in the presence of God and man in a congregation.
According to him:
“And this have ye done again, covering the alter with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveeth it with good will at your hand.
Yet ye say, Wherefore?Because the Lord hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet she is your companion, and the wife of thy convenant…..”
What the above is saying is that we should not treat our wives anyhow or techearously because they are our companion, the wives of our youth and our convenant. And that nothing like DIVORCE should be mentioned among us as Jesus earned in Matthew 19.

Giving some of the key mistakes couple making in marriage and the handling of their God-given resources, the coordinator listed: lack of communication, that inability of the couple to discuss their finances together and openly too; secret money (hiding spending and debts from each other); Different poo priorities (not aligning financial goals and values); overspending or underspending ( not finding a balance that works for them); letting busyness and stress come Between them; lack of forgiveness and many others.

The second Speaker at the event, Pastor James, who gave practical examples of building trust in marriage, said as a newly married man then the money he used and bought his land where he later build the house where they are living was gotten just one but the wife was not aware as she escorted him to pay for piece of land but when she queried him about money, he told her that the money just came and that he has not reached home to tell her of before the offer to buy the land came and he opened up. Pastor James gave series of other practical examples.

Evangelist Grace Chikodi Okehi, who handled the prayer session, took enough time to pray for wombling marriages and couples that are yet to find peace in their marriages and homes.

Participants were happy and were if the opinion that the enough time should be created for such seminars.

There was group photographs at the end.
